Duties and Responsibilities
The Resident Coordinator (RC) system encompasses all organizations of the United Nations system dealing with operational activities for development, regardless of their formal presence in the country. The RC system aims to bring together the different UN agencies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operational activities at the country level. The UN supported Government of Pakistan in its determined political will towards expeditiously prioritizing and adopting SDGs within national and local level priorities under the United Nations Sustainable Development Country Framework for Pakistan (UNSDCF).The UNSDCF planned results focus on five key outcome areas that respond to Pakistan’s development priorities and harness the powerful force of the United Nations’ comparative advantage in these areas. These were identified through an intensive consultation process with national and provincial authorities, alongside other implementing partners and stakeholders in the country. These key outcomes and their anticipated results serve as a framework for taking stock of progress, and of the effectiveness of the collaborative work carried out by the United Nations and the Government of Pakistan. They are expected to provide the people of Pakistan with a fuller range of choices and opportunities, promoting their human development and – in the words of Agenda 2030 – helping them to fulfil “their potential in dignity, equality and in a healthy environment. This internship is unpaid and full time. The minimum duration of an internship is two months and can be extended up to a total period of six months. Interns work five days per week (please specify your team’s working hours per week). A full-time internship should be above 34 hours per week. Under the supervision of the Data Management and Results Reporting Officer, the interns will: 1- Perform data entry in the UNInfo system, ensuring completeness and accuracy such as the geographical tagging at the district level. This task is done in close collaboration with the members of the Provincial Programme Teams (PPTs). 2- Collect, compile, and organize SDG-related data separately for progress tracking and reporting for both the federal and provincial levels. This includes making visualizations of the SDG related data. 3- Verify and validate data to ensure consistency with reporting guidelines. 4- Assist in updating and maintaining the data for UN programs and activities. 5- Support in generating reports and visualizations for UNInfo system and SDG progress monitoring. 6- Coordinate with relevant teams to gather missing data and resolve discrepancies. 7- Assist in organizing and documenting UN Data Group meetings and the Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Group (PMEL), including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action points. 8- Support other data-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications/special skills
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher). (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….. -Understanding of SDG indicators, targets, and reporting frameworks is an advantage. -Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data entry tools, and database management. -Ability to produce data driven maps/visuals using ARCH GIS and/or other mapping tools -Knowledge of data visualization and reporting tools is expected. -Experience in meeting coordination, note-taking, and documentation is desirable. -Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in English is required for the internship programme.

The UN Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO) in Pakistan is seeking two Data Assistant Interns to support data entry, compilation, and management, with a focus on UNInfo system updates and SDG-related data tracking. The interns will assist in gathering, organizing, and inputting development and UN agency related data, ensuring accuracy and consistency across reports. The interns are also expected to turn data into visuals, including maps, that can be used for analytical documents or communication outputs. Finally, they will support the coordination of UN Data Group meetings.

Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations.
